DESERT RESCUE TECHNICIAN COURSE

Since 2019, we have instructed comprehensive wilderness emergency medicine courses in the White Sands Desert of New Mexico.

Our Desert Rescue Technician course is offered in the Fall and Winter annually. It is instructed by certified Wilderness First Responders and Wilderness Survival Instructors. The course is taught near White Sands National Park in New Mexico and is designed to teach practical survival skills and technical emergency rescues in a difficult desert environment to anthropologists and archaeologists that are involved in field work abroad and in the United States. Outdoor enthusiasts, instructors, and wilderness leaders are encouraged to take the course as well. Classes will be taught in the field and near where camp is set up. The course will cover topographic planning, back country survival, orienteering, and technical emergency rescues. Follow the registration page link below to sign up for our next course.
