
DESERT RESCUE TECHNICIAN COURSE
Since 2019, we have instructed comprehensive wilderness emergency medicine courses in the White Sands Desert of New Mexico.
Our Desert Rescue Technician course is offered in the Fall and Winter annually. It is instructed by certified Wilderness First Responders and Wilderness Survival Instructors and is held near White Sands National Park in New Mexico. It is designed to incorporate practical survival, basic first aid, and technical emergency rescue skills for researchers that are involved in field work abroad and in the United States. Outdoor enthusiasts, instructors, wilderness leaders, and all ranges of wilderness experience backgrounds are encouraged to take the course. Classes will be taught in the field where camp is set up. The course will cover topographic planning, back country survival, orienteering, first aid planning, and technical emergency rescues.
