Cooper River Dive Trail

Our marine archaeological technician team will once again be heading to Charleston, South Carolina for another season of diving and artifact retrieval this year. Cooper River is a known state dredging site and is known to contain prehistoric remains of aquatic species, Iroquois lithics, ceramics, and hand tools, Civil War firearms, cannons, and swords.

This season the team will head upstream further inland to a trail that leads into the Cooper River. The Riverfront area has become crowded and will be difficult to continue research in that area.

Follow our newsletter or sign up to stay informed about project dates and locations. Dive season is starting at the end of February and we wouldn’t want you to miss it!
